As seems to be the theme this year, July has flown by! We’ve welcomed a new member to the team, and the office has been hot and buzzing with everything we’ve got on! If there’s one word for July, it’s strategy. I had a wonderful day of planning with our Account Manager, Nicole, and that theme has really carried through the whole month.
House of Commons: Behind the Scenes
Behind the scenes, we’ve been finalising two new collections for the House of Commons. Samples arrived and products are due to launch in store from w/c 10th August. We’ve created two brand new collections for them: a Christmas snow globe range, and an everyday range in a stunning dark navy and gold. They look absolutely beautiful, and I can’t wait to show you the full collection. As with everything we make, it’s all produced right here in the UK, and I think this one is going to be a real hit.
Out and About: Buyers, Stockists & Sightings
I’ve been out and about meeting buyers this month, including a visit to MAX + BETTY, a stunning new independent stockist with disco balls on the ceiling and a beautiful display. I also popped into Tower Bridge and Raindrops & Roses in St Albans to see their lovely displays.
Draw with Rob
Whilst visiting friends in St Albans, we went to the St Albans Museum to view an exhibition by Rob Biddulph, an illustrator my daughter absolutely adores. The exhibition was filled with seven years’ worth of Post-it notes: he drew his daughter one every single day for her packed lunch. It was genuinely inspiring, and my daughter has now started drawing her own daily Post-it notes, which is the sweetest thing.
Collection: Complete
The Edinburgh collection is finally finished! These are mock-up images for now, with samples arriving later this month and the full photoshoot taking place in early September.
Looking Ahead to this month
There’s plenty on the horizon for August:
• A two-week family summer holiday to kick off the month
• Illustration work will begin on our next bespoke collection
• The Edinburgh range officially launches!
• London Christmas Tale stock will be delivered to our warehouse by the end of the month and start shipping from September.
