Our die-struck keyrings and pin badges are made and enamelled by hand in the UK - in fact, they're made in Birmingham's famous Jewellery Quarter, where I used to live!
Badges Plus
The making of bespoke badges and insignia is part of British history and the processes used haven't changed vastly; traditional methods make traditional badges.
Established in 1976, Badges Plus has always been a family run business, starting out as a small team of 10 staff, and in the last 50 years has moved premises three times to keep up with demand, and now employs over 35 people.
During this time, they have become the UK's largest customised badge manufacturer!
Each design is carefully etched onto the tools, before being pressed into the metal to create a relief.
This is then trimmed to perfection, before soldering on either the pin for the badges, or the chains for the keyrings.
Each piece is then polished and plated before being enamelled by hand (which is much harder than it looks!), and then is inspected individually for any imperfections.
