Santa’s coming to town…
The Christmas holiday's are right around the corner and we're allgetting into the holiday spirit! Whether it’s a snowy day indoors or you’re just looking for a fun Christmas activity to do with the children, we have put together a list of fun ideas for enjoying the holiday season with the kids.
1. BAKE CHRISTMAS COOKIES
Making Christmas cookies during the holidays is a great and fun way to spend time with the kids. You can follow your own homemade recipe, or buy a simple pre-made mix. Either way, the kids will enjoy baking and decorating their cookies. To get into the holiday spirit, we suggest using festive cookie cutters and decorating the cookies with icing and sprinkles.
2. GET CREATIVE WITH GIFT WRAPPING
Another activity that will get your children involved during the holidays is to craft their own ornaments or gift wrap! This is a fun craft that kids of any ages can be a part of. This simple craft only involves a few items and will allow the kids to bring their own special touch to the Christmas tree!
3. BUILD A GINGERBREAD HOUSE
The gingerbread house tradition started in Germany in the early 1800s and is still a classic holiday activity today. Building a gingerbread house with the children is a fun (and tasty) way to get everyone in the holiday spirit. You can buy a gingerbread house kit from almost any craft or grocery store. The kits are easy to use and very kid friendly!
4. WRITE A LETTER TO FATHER CHRISTMAS
Nothing gets children more excited than Santa during the holidays. Writing a letter to Father Christmas is a classic activity for the kids to take part in. Whether they plan on sending him their full list of gifts or just writing a simple letter, it’s a fun way to get the kids excited for Santa and Christmas!
The last post date to the North Pole is Friday 8th December.
5. WATCH CHRISTMAS CLASSICS
If you’re snowed in during the holidays with the kids, it’s a great time to cuddle up on the sofa, make some hot chocolate and watch those Christmas classics! Here are some suggested Christmas movies to watch with the Children:
- Home Alone
- Miracle of 34th Street
- The Muppet Christmas Carol
- The Polar Express
