Our 'Love is Love' collection proudly supports LGBT Foundation. It has been a passion project for Victoria and something she has wanted to create for a long time.
Through the eye-catching range Victoria aims to drive a positive change and celebrate the beauty of love, equality and unity. We are proud to donate 10% of the profits from the new 'Love is Love' collection to LGBT Foundation: a charity aimed at changing LGBT lives for the better and securing a safe, equal and healthy future for all LGBT people.
Sadly this year we won't get to wave our rainbow flags and enjoy one of the biggest events in the UK's LGBT+ calendar, but there's no reason we can't celebrate at home.
THE DESIGN PROCESS
The design started out as a simple napkin sketch at a restaurant, see below, and has blossomed into something much more beautiful and symbolic.
Once the idea for the design started coming to life, Victoria took the sketch into her studio to begin brainstorming and playing around with potential ideas for the collection. As you can see below, the first version of the design used images she found online to start experimenting with the layout of the flowers and pride flag.
After she got a sense of what she wanted the design to look like, she began illustrating the roses and foliage, sweeping pride flag and text. As these early sketches show, she used a range of different flower designs and perspectives.
Using these sketches and hand-illustrated flower designs, Victoria began experimenting with various compositions. As illustrated in the series below, she used a handful of different layouts as well as experimenting with colour and shapes. The abundance of her sketches and different designs emphasises her desire to create the perfect design.
As you will see in the final design below, it's often best to keep it simple. From its original napkin sketch to the final design, Victoria stayed true to her initial aim to create some meaningful, eye-catching and bursting with love. Supporting LGBT Foundation, Victoria Eggs is proud to announce the newest collection, Love is Love.
Victoria’s hand illustrated design captures the beauty of love, equality, unity and empowerment and features intricately drawn roses in the form of a heart, with a striking rainbow through the middle. The heart as we know represents love, and the colourful rainbow is the famous symbol celebrating gay pride, gay rights and LGBTQ social movements.
