Happy 8th Birthday to Us!
We are celebrating 8 years of hand-illustrated homeware and gifts, all proudly made in Britain!
It's been an amazing 8 years. Take a look at what we have been up to since establishing the business on 21st March 2011.
1. We launched...
We launched victoriaeggs.com and started selling our first products at Spitalfields Market in London in March 2011.
The Dove T-shirt was one of the very first items we made and we've come a long way since then, now carrying over 250 different lines!
2. We doodled...
Our hand-illustrated designs start by putting pen to paper! Doodling London icons, Christmas activities and nostalgic memories all of which are truly British inspired. The past year has seen Victoria drawing more than usual with the launch of 2 new ranges, 4 bespoke lines and numerous additions to best selling ranges... phew, that's a lot of sketching!
3. We got creative...
Summer 2018 brought the seaside to our website! Our Nautical collection was inspired by warm weather and holiday fun, perfect for opening your home to summer all year round.
In January 2019 we launched the new Royally British collection, as a response to the huge success of Harry and Meghan's Royal Wedding range in May 2018 which achieved worldwide press coverage including the Los Angeles Times, CNN, BBC News, The One Show, Extreme Cake Makers, and Getty Images.
4. We took photos...
Lots of photos. New products mean new photos!
Photoshoots bring to life what we have been working on and enable us to share them with all of you. The photos are used across social media, marketing, our website, catalogue and advertising. It's amazing what you can get done on a days shoot when you have a plan... and Victoria always has a plan!
5. We traded...
At trade shows that is. In the past year we exhibited at NY Now, Top Drawer London, ACE, Interior Lifestyle Tokyo and retail fair Spirit of Christmas! Phew! What a year it's been. Trade and retail shows give us the opportunity to launch our new collections and show existing lines to lots of lovely buyers.
6. We appeared in stores...
St. Paul’s Cathedral, Southbank Centre, Harrods, Selfridges, Paperchase, Bentalls, Whole Foods Market, Tower Bridge, Imperial War Museum and London Eye are just a few of the locations that carry Victoria Eggs products. If you spot our products whilst out or have them in your home please share your photos with us, we'd love to see them.
7. We made it onto the “big screen”...
Our English Dinner apron has been well loved being worn by Dermot O'Leary, Sherrie Hewson on This Morning and most recently being featured in a whole episode of ITV's Emerdale! You can still see it in most episodes hanging in the kitchen.
Our festive products have been regularly featured on ITV's This Morning over the past few years. Holly Willoughby, Phil Schofield, Juliet Sear and Phil Vickery have all worn and used the collection’s and our Christmas aprons and tea towels were also featured on Made in Chelsea's Christmas special.
8. We moved...
In October 2018 we moved after 7 and a half years working out of Victoria's home office! It was sad to say goodbye, but felt less like the end of an era and more like the start of an exciting new chapter. We have exciting plans this year and look forward to sharing our new location with you soon. Watch this space...
Thank you so much for being a part of our journey, it's been an incredible 8 years and we're excited about the many more years to come.
Cheers to eight!
